10 talented children became Music for Future scholarship holders

10 talented children who won the competition became Music for Future scholarship holders. They were awarded annual nominal scholarship certificates: each month they will receive scholarship amount equivalent to 100 Euros.

"Taking into account the mission of the Foundation, the Board of Trustees decided earlier this year to establish a scholarship for Armenian talented young musician-performers. Many talented children study in Armenian music schools, and both this scholarship and other projects of the Foundation will give the opportunity to children to learn and master their profession, improving their performance skills. We will organize master classes with the best professors and famous artists of the world. Sergey Smbatyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, has a great role in defining this scholarship: it was with his help that we were able to raise money for the established scholarship. The Armenian State Symphony Orchestra also joined this initiative, and we have the opportunity to provide our fellows not only with tickets to all concerts of the Orchestra, but also organize meetings with famous musicians invited to Armenia by the Orchestra, ensure childrens' participation in rehearsals of the Orchestra, which will be a great experience for young people", said Anna Ter-Hovakimyan, director of the Music for Future Foundation.

She also expressed her regret that this time the children of the regional music schools were not be able to be included in the program. "The foundation will organize interesting educational projects for the children who participated in the competition, but were not included in the program, and we now have different discussions on this topic. There is a great desire that children from the regions can also be included in the scholarship program in the future. We must help children from the regions develop their performing skills".

Children who participated in the competition had sent videos of their performances, and the selection was made by an international committee consisting of the most famous Armenian musicians in the world: Edvard Hayrapetyan (Composer), Vahagn Papian (Professor at the Tel Aviv Samuel Rubin Academy of Music, Conductor and Pianist), Suren Bagratuni (Professor at the Michigan State University College of Music, Cellist) and Boris Allakhverdyan (Concertmaster at the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, Clarinetist).
