In October 2024, eleven talented young musicians from the Music for the Future Foundation traveled to Moscow, Russia to participate in the XXI International Festival “Moscow Welcomes Friends” (including an online version). This prestigious event, organized by the Vladimir Spivakov International Charitable Foundation, brought together talented young people from around the world to perform, connect, and celebrate the universal language of music.
Festival: a celebration of talent and cultural exchange
The festival, held from October 2 to 10, marked a special milestone: the 30th anniversary of the Spivakov International Charitable Foundation. It is one of the most famous children's festivals in Russia, and over the decades, the festival has identified and educated thousands of talented children who are now prominent figures in the classical world.
Hosting participants from 28 countries around the world, this global event served as a platform for young musicians to showcase their talent and skills. For the Armenian representatives, it was also a moment of cultural exchange and artistic growth.
Showcasing Armenian talent on the international stage
The young musicians of the “Music for the Future” Foundation proudly represented Armenia, performing in the most prominent concert halls of Moscow. Their journey took them to the Museum of Russian Impressionism, the N. Rimsky-Korsakov Children’s Art School, the S. Rachmaninov Concert Hall of the P. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, the Zurab Tsereteli Gallery, and even the Beethoven Concert Hall of the prestigious Russian State Academic Bolshoi Theater (Большой театр).
Their performances, which featured works by composers such as Sarasate, Pechenegka, Liszt, Gershwin and Mangani, Rimsky-Korsakov, Scriabin, Strauss, Wieniawski, Vogt, and Goens, captivated the audience and demonstrated the level of their musical talent.
The Foundation's Young Virtuosos The following young musicians performed on behalf of the "Music for the Future" Foundation and delighted the audience with their performances: Arpi Arabyan (violin, 11 years old), Mark Minasyan (piano, 13 years old), Elen Khachikyan (piano, 16 years old), Edgar Mkhitaryan (piano, 16 years old), Arsen Balayan (clarinet, 17 years old), Gor Yenokyan (trombone, 15 years old), Marie Danielyan (piano, 16 years old), Martin Arshakyan (galarapogh, 17 years old), Eduard Dayan (violin, 15 years old), Aren Toplaghaltsyan (11 years old, cello), Tigran Gasparyan (16 years old, oboe)

For the young musicians, this festival was not only an opportunity to shine on the international stage, but also a chance for personal and professional growth. They returned home inspired, with expanded horizons and developed skills that will shape their future careers in music. This experience instilled in them a deeper appreciation for the power and perfection of music.
